Interview: @Gleek

Katherine is a 19 years old gleek from Australia, at the moment she studies public relations at university. Between her hobbies there are such things as playing netball, supporting my AFL (Aussie football) team, hanging out with friends, being on Twitter, Tumblr, all of that and watching to Glee. Her favorite tv shows are Bones, Law and Order SVU, Ellen, Friends, The Nanny and an Aussie show called Offspring.
A huge dream of her came true when she visited the glee set, getting to go on set is something she'll remember for ever. She would like to travel more, get a good job and meet Lea Michele.
She's a kind, warm hearted and generous person who likes having fun and laughing. and I can get passionate (and emotional) about the things she love, she likes being around people but also enjoys being alone.

"I remember I first heard DSB before the episode, a friend played it for me. Straight away I was like "that girl sounds amazing, they all do""

When and why you started it?
I started watching back in 2009 when I was 13, I saw promos on tv and I thought it looked like a really fun show.

And what did you like?
I fell in love with it straight away, these characters were so unique and special, and I loved the high school storyline.
Still from Pilot.
I also thought that all the music was awesome, and it was the package deal. Straight away I wanted more ( If it's alright I have a little story about Don't Stop Believin'!)
Here it is:
I remember I first heard DSB before the episode, a friend played it for me. Straight away I was like "that girl sounds amazing, they all do" I'll always remember that moment.

And then when the season went on?
I fell more and more in love! The story's started to get deeper, like Quinn's pregnancy, Rachel's feelings for Finn, Kurt struggling with his identity, so many things. It captivated me, it was a worldwide phenomenon, and all these music performances that were so clever. And you could just tell how much the cast loved it all.

"How do you say goodbye to a show that's changed so many people's lives and had been a part of you. The time has just come for us to say goodbye."

What do you think is the worst season of all? why?
Glee definitely changed after season 3. All of a sudden there was a shift from McKinley to other story lines, which was tough. But... I still love this show, and there has still been so much to love, especially following the original cast.

What you used to feel that you dont feel anymore?
As you get older things change, and we saw that with Glee. I really missed everyone being in school in the New Directions, and everyone being together. That was really a main thing to get used to, not having all of the originals in each episode, and some really separate story lines. That's why I love all the episodes when they reunite at McKinley!

How do you feel about Glee ending?
I'm so emotional, I've been emotional for a long time about this, and now we're actually here, it's so hard to believe. Suddenly these past 6 years feel like they've gone so quickly, and how do you say goodbye to a show that's changed so many people's lives, and been a huge part of you? Hearing the final songs, seeing the final cast interviews, it's been tough and a crazy ride, but I'm so proud of this show and I know the cast are all going to achieve amazing things, and all of us will carry Glee with us forever.

Still from Dreams Come True
But do you want it to end or not?
No! I wish we could have Glee forever! But I understand that this journey must end, and it's time for the final songs and stories to be told, but I'm going to miss it so, so much.

Who is to "blame" when it comes to the end?
There are many good shows with a lot of seasons and glee was a good show. Definitely no one's to blame for Glee ending. The time has just come for us to say goodbye. Even though I wish it wasn't ending, in reality. Glee has done an amazing job doing that. The characters couldn't stay in school forever, and we've gotten to see them in the 'real world' too. Glee achieved it's purpose, and so much more.

"I was definitely a Gleek before I got twitter, but suddenly I discovered this awesome way to really connect"

When you joined the fandom?
When Glee began no one knew how huge it would be. It started as a comedy for the underdog, and instantly became a phenomenon... We got characters like Santana and Brittany who started off in the background, and became so important. I made my twitter account in 2011, but was following as much as I could online before that, since the beginning. But 2011 was when I really joined! I was definitely a Gleek before I got twitter, but suddenly I discovered this awesome way to really connect!

How did you come up with it?
I was so lucky to get it, I still can't believe it. I was just trying to think of a really cool name, and was trying all obscure things, then I tried gleek and it worked! At first I thought I'd made a spelling error because it was free, but somehow I got it!

And what do you think of the glee fandom?
BEST PEOPLE EVER! Seriously, getting to be a part of this online fan base is awesome, (and I'm definitely still going to be here after glee ends!) the people I follow/follow me are all great, and we all support and love the cast so much. There are some people you come across that are just there to troll, but sadly you get that anywhere - the Glee fandom I see everyday are incredible people and I love you all.

Still from Dreams Come True
Will you miss them?
I'm going to stay online, following the cast and tweeting Glee memories! And I really hope that a lot of other people will too. What I'll miss here is Glee as a whole. Everyone who is still here now has been through so much, our lives have all been touched by Glee

"This huge chapter is closing. What an honour these past 6 years have been"

Tell us about your visit to the Glee set:
I booked a tour of Paramount, which was awesome, I the guide told me heaps of things about Glee, and we saw some of the outside shoot locations, like where Cory filmed the Grilled Cheesus scene. I also saw a plaque they'd made for Finn in the craft/sign room, as well as other Glee props. I was lucky enough to meet Joaquin, and then got taken on a private tour of some of the set by another crew member! I met a whole bunch of crew, who are the nicest people ever, including Andrew Mitchell. I also saw Brad Ellis (piano), Brooke Lipton... Ryan, Ian and Brad, Robert Ulrich (casting director), and it turns out Noah Guthrie auditioned for Glee that day and I saw him outside!
I went in the auditorium, stood in the box at the top, walked down the steps and stood on the stage, which was like a dream... The stage especially was huge, but the actual seating area wasn't quite as big as on tv! The seats are more spread out than it seems. But there was something magical about standing on that stage. I also went into Rachel Berry's bedroom (they were shooting the first ep of s6), went in the teacher's lounge, Mr Schue's and Emma's house. And saw where the NYC loft was (they were converting it into Blaine's room)Definitely the auditorium was the highlight, and Rachel's room was awesome too!

Have you liked the final season?
I have, I think the writers did a really good job ending Glee as a whole... There a things I wish we'd seen more of, like the original cast more, and some story lines I wonder why they introduced, but It's been a fun season. I was surprised at how much I love the new newbies, I could have watched so much more of them!

And what do you think of Scream Queens?
I'm so excited for Scream Queens! I really can't wait to see Lea in it, and see her bring another character to life. It looks amazing!

Why ryan doesnt tweet about Glee?
I have no idea! Maybe he knows that the fandom basically know everything that's happening anyway.

Do you have a message for the gleeks?
We should be so proud of this show, our cast and ourselves. This journey hasn't been the easiest, losing Cory is something that was so cruel but we're here, an extended Glee family. We got to sing, dance, laugh and cry with the show and our cast, and we fell in love with these characters. I really think that we are the strongest and most passionate fandom out there. I really hope that all of you stay online, because we've been part of something so amazing. So in the words of Journey, "the movie never ends, it goes on and on and on and on" -
This huge chapter is closing, but we get to follow the cast onto amazing things. What an honour these past 6 years have been

Glee changed your life? did it made your life better?
Glee has definitely shaped my life, and given me so much joy. I started watching Glee when I was 13, and the final episode will air when I'm 19. I was lucky enough to have all of my teenage years with Glee. I moved through high school with the characters, graduated in 2013 alongside a bunch of them, and faced similar challenges entering the real world. And Glee gave us the most amazing cast. All such strong and inspired individuals, not to mention the most talented cast on television. Getting to sing, dance, laugh and cry with glee has been amazing, and I'm forever grateful for it from all the fans, I want to thank that cast, crew, writers and producers for over 6 incredible years of hard work. We love you all, thank you.

First of all I want to thank, again, everyone who participated in this thing I came up a few months ago, thank you, whoever read this (which are many surprisingly), this section of the blog will be on a hiatus for some time. Hope you keep reading me!
Thank you!
